Friday, January 30, 2004 ::: totally pissed. the 'cracked-cd-jewel-case' count has reached new heights. today just got home, spotted the norah jones album, wanted to give it a listen after the excitement of listening to her new song 'sunrise', opened the case... the 'outer case' was fine, but the inner flip case was severely damaged, with dislocation of the flip case due to permanent damage at the joint, plus permanent damage to the center CD holder, meaning that the CD can't be held securely at the center. Later diagnosis found 2 slight scratches on the CD itself. punk'd... Suspicious findings: 1. i'm sure the CD was moved. it didn't belong to that place... i'm sure i wasn't the one who place the CD there. 2. i don't recall cracking the 'joints' last time i handled the case. I'm a really careful person when you talk about jewel case handling. 3. the way the jewel case was cracked... it doesn't look like injury from falling... when a case fall normally the outer case would be damaged first, but this time the outer case was fine. Not even 1 crack on it. 4. for the past few months i've been discovering so many cracked CD jewel case. being such a careful CD handler myself, i don't think i'm the one who crack them, at least not ALL of the discovered cases. conclusion: someone else has been handling my CD carelessly at my back, and those cases just got unlucky. i ought to find out who did it... afterall the suspects list isn't a long one. ok, so back to the new single from norah jones. still 'melow', and still 100% 'norah'. no nasty surprise, but ain't a pleasant surprise either. not expecting it to be a big hit. with a (rather disappointing) chorus 'Oooh.... Oooh... Oooh...
